My Top 10 Favorite DIY Supplies

Have you ever started a project, only to realize halfway through that you’re missing the supplies you need to finish it? DIY enthusiasts, you know what I’m talking about! Nothing puts a damper on your crafting ambitions like realizing you don’t have what you need to complete a project. You’re either left with half-finished work until you can get to the store to get your DIY supplies, or you’re disappointed with the results because you tried to fudge it with the supplies you had at the time.

If this has happened to you, it might be time to invest in some basic DIY supplies. You can keep them around your house for crafting emergencies, and I guarantee you they will come in handy. Before you begin your next project, take a look at the list below. These DIY supplies will make your life so much easier!

DIY Supplies

1. Soft Grip Shears – These shears work well to cut through a variety of materials, including cardboard, cork, decorative metals, and leather. They also come with a lifetime warranty and a sheath to protect them when they are not in use.

2. Portable Paper Trimmer – This paper trimmer makes it easy to achieve clean, straight cuts every time. It can cut up to 15 sheets of paper at once, and I love that it has a storage compartment for extra blades.

3. Precision Knife – This knife comes in handy when you need to create small cuts that shears just can’t make. It is available in two different blade options. I like #2 myself because it is strong enough to cut through thicker materials, like wood and rubber.

4. Hot Glue Gun – No craft room is complete without a hot glue gun! This one is my top choice because it has several helpful features to make the crafting process even easier, such as a stand-up base and a drip-free nozzle. No more messy clean-up with this glue gun around!

5. Sealer – Available in matte, satin, gloss, super thick gloss, dishwasher safe gloss, and fabric-friendly versions

6. Paint Brush Set – This set is the perfect starter kit for anyone who is new to DIY projects. It includes 24 different brushes in a variety of sizes. Even better yet, the materials are eco-friendly!

7. Reusable Stir Sticks and Applicators – These stir sticks and applicators are another great eco-friendly solution for your DIY projects. They are made of silicone, so they can be rinsed and reused over and over again. You can use them to mix paint, resin, sealer, and more!

8. Staple Gun – This staple gun is made of heavy-duty steel, making it a useful all-purpose tool to keep around the house. It features an ergonomic rubber handle that is comfortable to hold, and you can even adjust the strength of the pressure to suit your project.

9. Level – It can be so helpful to have a level when you’re hanging pictures, art, or home decor! I love this one from Craftsman because it has three vials to show different angles, and it has different size options.

10. Cordless Drill – This set is the perfect all-in-one kit for those who are just starting out with power tools! It comes with drill bits in 21 different sizes, as well as a carrying case for DIY projects on the go. The bits are removable, so that you can also fit the drill with Dewalt’s screw bits.

With these basic essentials in your tool kit, you can DIY to your heart’s content! They will make the experience more fun, and help you achieve high-quality results.
