Lake House Design: The Final Reveal

Lake House Design: The Final Reveal

When I last reported on my progress for the lake house design project, my team and I still had a few things to cross off of our to-do list. But after much hard work and a busy installation over the last few weeks, I’m excited to announce that this project is now complete. Our clients are thrilled with the results, and so are we! Keep reading for more about this project, as I share all of the room-by-room details of this calm, cool, and collected lake house design.

The Design Process

Mood boards are my go-to way to piecing together the aesthetic I want to achieve for each room. I start by sourcing products and furnishings, and I make sure that they all blend well with one another. Creating mood boards not only helps me determine the layout of a space, but also shows my clients what to expect before the job is completed. Living Room

This basement living space is full of textures and different shades of blue to bring a cozy and relaxing feel to the space. As we know by now, repurposing is my game. I brought the side tables to life with some black paint, rattan, and new knobs to take a boring brown dresser to a fun textured piece of furniture that really adds to the space. Same with the lampshades – nothing some spray paint and new lamp shades won’t fix. Also, to complete the room we brought in art pieces from Etsy and pieces that the homeowner already had.

Kitchen & Dining Room

How could anyone not love this dream kitchen, with gorgeous mixed metals and a large center island from All Stone & Tile? This island makes the perfect place for morning breakfast or the gathering of friends and family. This kitchen wouldn’t have come out to be this perfect without CabAve’s beautiful cabinetry. If you’re looking to update your kitchen anytime soon, definitely check them out.

Bedrooms

These rooms may have been my favorite to design. We brought in new furnishings to make the rooms feel brand new. Most of it was purchased from Wayfair, like the accent chairs in the master bedroom, the headboard in the spare bedroom, and new armoire in the basement office. In the basement, we added wall art from Etsy to give the room a more boho vibe, and in the spare bedroom, my assistant created custom wall art to finish off the room. Lastly, a room isn’t complete without a rug, so we set a rug from Surya in the basement, and a rug in the spare bedroom from Rugs Direct. They are both great places to purchase beautiful rugs.

Bathrooms

“Simple and serene” is how I’d describe these bathrooms. You can easily elevate any bathroom by buying new soap dispensers, towels, and, obviously, decor. Whether it’s adding greenery, changing out wall art, or purchasing storage bins, clean and organized style is always a go-to when elevating your bathroom. Almost everything you see in these bathrooms is from The Home Depot and Amazon. The biggest thing to remember is that you don’t have to spend a ton of money when redoing a space in your home.

Whether you love this lake house design or you’re looking to achieve a different aesthetic, I love finding beauty in all things. I would love to help you uncover your home’s story and help you live your best life, too. Reach out to schedule a consultation with me!
